Project Launched: Responsible Robotics Traces the Ethical and Social Aspects of AI-Based Transformations in Healthcare Work and Knowledge Environments (RR-AI)

Since the beginning of April, the interdisciplinary research project Responsible Robotics (RR-AI) accompanies the development and introduction of two novel AI-based technologies in healthcare – a service robot named GARMI, and a smart arm exoprosthesis. The project is lead by a consortium that comprises three different institutes at TUM: The Insitute for the History and Ethics of Medicine (IHEM), the Munich Center for Technology in Society (MCTS) and the Munich School for Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MSRM). Funded by the Bavarian Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt), the project explores novel divisions of labour between humans and machines in healthcare practices.
