Welcome to the MCTS Visiting Scholar Bernhard Isopp, who will be staying with us in April 2019.
Bernhard Isopp has a PhD in Science and Technology Studies from York University, Toronto/Canada. His recent research attends to questions of the policization of science through examinations of media discourses about climate change. In both his research and teaching he strives to develop frameworks for engaged STS. He also has an extracurricular fascination with bicycles as objects of philosophical inquiry.
Bernhard will also give a talk on Tuesday, April 23, 5:30 pm in the MCTS seminar room 370, titled “Responsibility in Science, Engineering, and Technology: Towards Institutional Reflexivity“.
