20 November 2018

M-C-T-S is all around: We are delighted to announce the next Munich Colloquium on Technology in Society

On Tuesday, Nov 20, 2018, Prof. Sarah R. Davies (University of Copenhagen) will give a talk on „Making Sense of Mobility: Precarity and International Mobility in the Natural Sciences“ (5 pm, Vorhoelzer Forum, cf. poster attached) – followed by an open forum panel discussion on „Global Careers – Opportunities and Challenges“. The event will bring together researchers from Singapore and the US as well as scientists and leadership from TUM who will discuss important questions regarding international academic careers in the 21st century. Internationalization is an important topic not only at TUM but it shapes academic work and life at universities all around the globe. The panelists, who hold extensive expertise about scientific careers, science and technology policy, mobility and innovation will reflect on important questions such as: What does and should internalization look like in scientific careers today? What are the challenges and opportunities that arise in the context of growing international mobility? The panelists will discuss these important questions with each other and with the audience to open up an constructive dialogue at TUM.

The Munich Colloquium on Technology in Society is designed as a series of public lectures. These lectures will be held by important figures in the area of Science and Technology Studies and explore key issues at the crossroads of science, technology, society and policy.
