On Thursday, 1 February, Prof. Dr. Michael John Gorman (Founding Director BIOTOPIA | Chair in Life Sciences in Society, LMU Munich) will give a talk on „Envisioning Biotopia” at 12:15 pm, in Seminar room 370 (MCTS), Augustenstr. 46.

A new museum and forum to explore life How can we reinvent the concept of a natural history museum to create a new kind of museum for what Craig Venter has described as the “biological century”? How can we create a space for active public engagement with the pressing environmental challenges that we face? Founding Director Michael John Gorman will share his vision for BIOTOPIA (www.biotopia.net), the new museum being established at Schloss Nymphenburg with the ambitious vision to “reconfigure the relationship between humans and other species”, and explore how public engagement projects like this can be opportunities for “MCTS in action”.
