Markus Stöhr completed his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Vocational Education: Health and Nursing Sciences and Social Studies at the Technical University of Munich. In his thesis, he examined the changing world of work in hospitals as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since December 2021, he has been a member of the DFG research project "Work in times of Corona - Risk policy and dynamic boundary management of work under conditions of SARS-CoV-2 (WorkPanRisk)". Since October 2022, he has been researching and teaching at the Chair of Sociology of Science and Technology on the (digital) transformation of the world of work with a focus on healthcare.
