Translating Futures into Action. On the Organizational Sensemaking of the Future of Work.
In his PhD, Tobias studies how organisations try to shape future forms of work. Specifically, he is interested in the translation processes of socio-technical futures of work, such as “digitalization”, into local action. How are these futures depicted by organizational actors? How can organizations enact these futures in a reflexive manner? Therefore, Tobias investigates the local enactments by work councils and other organizational collectives in established industrial and larger IT firms in Germany.
