Philosophy of Technology (Associate or Full Professor) at MCTS

We are very pleased that the TUM announces an Open Rank Professorship (Associate/Full) for Philosophy of Technology (Job offer: German / English)! The professorship will play a central role at the MCTS in order to impact the TUM with the social sciences and humanities and to enrich the profile of the MCTS in Science and Technology Studies with a strong philosophy oriented towards interdisciplinary research.

Science and Technology Studies at the MCTS is interested in understanding and shaping the manifold interactions of science, technology and society. Among other things, we work on biotechnologies, mobility and digitization and deal with innovation cultures, public engagement and the practices and policies of science and technology development.

If you are a philosopher of technology working on these questions, you will find that we are open-minded, critical and committed colleagues. If your work also fits in with the existing focus areas, e.g. in the field of digitization and artificial intelligence, or supplements them with burning questions in emerging technologies, such as health, robotics, the environment or mobility, then you will fit in perfectly with us.

For further information on the position, please contact the Dean’s Office of the TUM School of Governance. For questions on the MCTS, research topics and work at an “Integrative Research Center” at the TUM, please contact the Director of the MCTS directly:
