Studied English literature & language and German as a foreign language at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (M.A., 1996), Oxford Brooks University, Great Britain (Diploma in Advanced Study, 1993) and at Université Nr. X Nanterre-Paris, France (Licence d’Etudes Franco-Allemande, 1995). Research assistant at the chair of general and theoretical sociology at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena (Ph.D., 2006). Post-doc at the chair of pedagogical psychology at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, the chair of teaching and learning research, and chair at the Friedrich Schiedel Endowed Chair of Sociology of Science, Technical University of Munich.
