“Haunting Biology: Science and Indigeneity in Australia”

Alfred Deakin Professor Emma Kowal is Professor of Anthropology and Deputy Director of the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation at Deakin University. She is a cultural and medical anthropologist who previously worked as a medical doctor and public health researcher in Indigenous health. Her research interests lie at the intersection of anthropology, science and technology studies (STS), and Indigenous studies.

Join us for an exciting talk on the intersection of science and indigeneity in Australia. Our speaker will delve into the haunting history of biology and how it has impacted indigenous peoples in Australia.
