Doctorate completed

On June 2, 2020, Carolin Schönewolf successfully completed the oral examination for her doctorate, in which she dealt with “Disambiguation of Techno-Futures. The Linear Disruption of Autonomous Automobility”.

Carolin Schönewolf’s doctoral project investigates the sociotechnical transformation of automobility through the lense of techno-futures of autonomous driving. The analysis of disambiguations carves out the dealing with the paradox simultaneity of disruptive innovation and linear development. Instead of focusing on disruption or linearity, her study proposes to understand sociotechnical transformation as an iterative process that requires an alternative governance.

Congratulations to the future Dr. rer. soc.!
