Doctorate completed

On October 28, 2020 Luca Nitschke successfully completed the oral examination for his doctorate, in which he dealt with “Vehicles of resistance?  ̶  Non-commercial carsharing and the socio-ecological mobility transition.”

Luca Nitschke’s dissertation explores practices of non-commercial carsharing. It argues that hegemonic practices of automobility are reconstructed through a process of everyday resistance, re-embedding capitalist mobilities in everyday life along four aspects: Redefine the meaning of the car and automobility, reembed automobility into its environmental context, foster sociality and change ownership relations. Thence, non-commercial carsharing shows a potential pathway for a socio-ecological just and post-capitalist mobility transition.

Congratulations to the future Dr. phil.!
