Doctorate completed

On December 13, 2021 Michael Clormann successfully completed the oral examination for his doctorate, in which he dealt with „Negotiating Beyond-Planetary Challenges: The European Space Sector in the New Space Age.“

Michael Clormann’s dissertation explores how the European space sector is currently challenged by non-simultaneous demands arising with the proposition of a so-called New Space Age. Focusing on case studies on outer space sustainability and innovation culture, it analyzes how these demands are unpacked and negotiated by European space sector professionals and what implications the discursive practices emerging out of these negotiations have for the societal relevance and accessibility of European spaceflight activities.

Congratulations to the future Dr. rer. soc.!
